The Boeing 787-9 is the same wingspan as the 787-8 but it is 20 feet longer (6.1m) and designed for MTOW (maximum take-off weight) of 560,000 lbs. It is primarily constructed of composite materials and features electrical flight systems, raked wingtips, and noise-reducing chevrons on the engine nacelles. American Airlines operates 17 787-9s with orders for an additional 30. The 787-9 is configured with 280 seats.

Best Model I Own

Really, really nice model. The paint finish is museum quality. Everyone likes looking thru the fan blades and out the back of the engines. The curve of the wing is much more pronounced than the one at AA Gift Shop. And, the extra $25 for the stand: do it.

Putting this model next to the AA Gift Shop model ( I have both ), there is quite a large difference. Again: museum or gift shop? Your call.

Model 787-9

What a beautiful replica of the Boeing 787-9.
I unboxed it gently and placed back in box. It is a gift for a family member who will retire as a Senior Captain on September 1. I cannot wait to give it to him. The detail is magnificent and I am pleased, and I am sure he will be pleased too. Thank you Model Shop for outstanding customer service and helping me with the engraving!
