Qantas Airways Models
Qantas Airways is the largest carrier by fleet size and number of destinations both domestic and international in Australia. Founded in 1920 with the Avro 504K, by Hudson Fysh, Paul McGinness, and Fergus McMaster it was then named the "Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services", thus the acronym Qantas and later nicknamed "The Flying Kangaroo".
Qantas joined Imperial Airways the predecessor of British Airways in 1934 and became QEA and began international service throughout the British Empire. In 1947, QEA was nationalized and Qantas became primarily an international carrier. They took delivery of the first Boeing 707 in 1959 launching them into the jet age. A merger in 1986 and re-branding of Trans Australian Airlines, added the domestic routes that earned them the title as Australia's flagship carrier.
PacMin is proud to be an officially licensed manufacturer of models representing the Qantas fleet of aircraft.
