The X-59, short for X-59 Quiet SuperSonic Technology (QueSST), is an experimental aircraft being developed by four NASA research centers, General Electric, and Lockheed Martin. The X designation is given to US aircraft and rockets that are used to test new technologies.

The X-59 will test technology that will allow the aircraft to fly faster than the speed of sound over land and reduce the loud sonic boom to a quiet thump. It is NASA’s first piloted experimental aircraft since the X-57 in 2016. Currently, commercial airlines can’t fly faster than the speed of sound over land because it would create a very loud sonic boom.

Another PacMin home run!

I bought one of these when it first came out several year ago and gave it a 5-star rating back then. When it was reissued, I bought two more and urged my collector friends to get one for themselves. They are exactly as before—perfect in every detail. And the packaging is just great. As my previous review said, I only regret PacMin didn’t decal that blank white stand with the program’s colorful badge or the ADP Skunk logo.

Beautiful Model

A wonderful recreation of the X-59! PacMin always outperforms and the quality is superb as always - thank you to PacMin for creating and making available this very nice model! Perfect all around!

Beautifully detailed and finished model of an exotic bird

A flawlessly executed model of a complex aircraft. PacMin excels in the details and this X-59 is no exception. The decals, from the tiny Skunk Works hallmark to the thin swoops of the NASA tail insignia, are crisp and legible. The tiny "shovel" nose is thin and symmetrical. The exhaust nozzle paint has no overspray. My only wish would have been for the Skunk Works name + logo, and the aircraft's name, to appear on the base of the stand. Bottom line, this PacMin's X-59 QueSST is a gorgeous work of art and I feel so fortunate to have it in my collection of "X-Plane" models!
