Shipping policy

Every order is carefully inspected and securely packed before leaving our warehouse. Because we offer a range of products from off-the-shelf items to custom large-scale exhibits, shipping and fulfillment windows vary by product category:

  • Regularly Stocked Items: Most standard, off-the-shelf storefront items are fulfilled and shipped within 3 to 7 business days of order placement.

  • Limited Edition Releases: Fulfillment timelines for limited runs are variable. These items will ship in accordance with the specific timeline parameters noted directly on the individual product page at the time of purchase.

  • Large-Scale Custom Models & Exhibits: Because these products are individually commissioned and built from scratch, they require extensive fabrication, assembly, and engineering. These custom products ship within approximately 25 weeks (unless a different custom timeline is explicitly agreed upon in writing).

Domestic Shipping

The Model Shop's preferred carrier is FedEx. During checkout, you can select from a menu of available FedEx shipping options to view estimated transit times and live carrier costs.

International Shipping, Duties, and Taxes

For our international shoppers, please note that all automated shipping estimates provided at checkout do not include any local import duties, customs tariffs, or taxes.

Because customs rates vary significantly by country and jurisdiction, we are unable to calculate or provide estimated import costs during checkout. Your local customs agency will contact you directly and require payment for these duties and taxes before your model can be released for final delivery.

To get an estimate of these fees prior to purchasing, you can utilize an online duties calculator or contact your local customs agency directly.

Important Note on Refused Shipments: If an international shipment is refused by the buyer due to unpaid duties and taxes, or if the buyer fails to coordinate with customs clearance, the order will be abandoned or returned. The buyer will be held strictly responsible for all original shipping fees, return shipment logistics costs, and any associated customs penalties incurred by The Model Shop.
